The Evil Called Procrastination

One of the most overwhelming evils of a person’s daily life is this gigantic monster called procrastination. It keeps you unmoving; it destroys schedules, distracts you from your goals, and ultimately makes you feel frustrated at the end of the day.

But, procrastination is a deliberate act of choosing another task over a more important one, which means you have all the power in your own hands to remove it from the daily equation.

How do you do that? To help you out, the Novuhair team has put together some tips:

1. Sleep early, and wake up early.

Getting very little sleep makes a grumpy you the following morning. And this starts an avalanche of procrastination over important things that must be done during the first hours of your day. Best thing you can do? Get to bed early, and train yourself to wake up early too! Have a hearty breakfast and a then a cold revitalizing shower using products with natural active ingredients like Novuhair 3-in-1 pack – contains one bottle each of herbal shampoo, topical scalp lotion and herbal conditioner to provide you the optimum benefits of NOVUHAIR® natural hair loss solution. When used in combination, you’d experience an even better result than used individually. You’ll find just how helpful this is in getting that fresh resolve to get things done as early as possible.

2. Set a schedule for every single day.

Knowing what you are supposed to be doing for the day, and seeing it in writing gives you a sense of purpose and direction. Get yourself a planner where you can jot down your tasks. There are planners with detailed time sections – go for those so you can specifically write down your goals by the hour.

3. Take things one at a time.

Big to-do’s tend to be set aside simply because they’re overwhelming and time-consuming. Don’t hesitate to break a huge task apart by dealing with it ‘piece by piece’. For example, goal number 1 is to put up your child’s playroom – start by setting today’s goal to ‘purchase kiddie furniture for the playroom’, and the next day’s to ‘sort existing toys’, and then so on and so forth until you see the playroom actually coming along nicely. This way, you achieve part of your big task daily, and eventually getting to finish it, without feeling the daunting pressure of it being a huge undertaking.

4. Make yourself responsible for missing deadlines.

Procrastination hates deadlines, and it also loathes ‘punishment’ for going off the timetable. If there’s a task you missed out on doing because you procrastinated, make yourself accountable by enforcing a self-imposed penalty. Missed to submit a report? Deny yourself that Friday night-out drink. Have a buddy in on your ‘punishment’, so you have someone looking out to ensure that it gets implemented.

We at Novuhair believe that procrastination, big an evil as it may be, can be defeated. All it takes is your conscious effort to make things work.

How To Keep Your Hair Healthy During The Summer Season

The sweltering temperatures of the Philippine summer season can really make one hot-headed – literally. With the degrees climbing from 32 to 37 centigrade any given summer day, there is just no getting away from the dryness and stress.

Add to that the slew of activities one can get involved in during the busy months filled with sunshine, and for sure, your hair will take in a steady amount of ‘torture’. That is, if you don’t take the necessary measures to take care of it.

Here are a few easy ways to make sure that your hair stays beautiful throughout the summer:

novuhair-3in1-lotion-shampoo-conditioner1. Keep your hair moisturized. One thing that summer does to your hair is to dry it out, not only through the temperature but also through swimming in pools or salt water. To keep hair smooth, healthy and well conditioned, best to use NOVUHAIR® 3-in-1 pack. Each set contains Novuhair Herbal Shampoo and conditioner, which keeps your hair hydrated through natural active ingredients and a topical scalp lotion to help increase the nutrition in your scalp.

2. Your lazy days at the beach must also include some sort of hair protection like a floppy hat, a visor, or simply wrap a scarf around it while you ‘sunbathe’. This way, you can keep some of the harmful UV rays away from your gorgeous strands.

3. If you plan to spend a considerable amount of time in the pool or the beach, don’t forget to bring with you some hair care elements like Novuhair Topical Scalp Lotion. It will help you ensure that your lovely locks are not deprived of important nutrients it needs that chlorinated water and salt water tends to strip away.

4. Go for more laid-back or natural hairstyles. As much as possible, keep styling elements like the curling iron and blow-dryer away from your hair. Use of these tools will only add up to the heat and ‘stress’ that your hair has to suffer during the summer months.

5. Keep your head and hair clean. Pollution in the city, and even in favorite summer destinations tend to escalate during the hot months of March to May, and all the dirt can build up in your hair. Chlorine and salt from your refreshing dips can also take up space on your scalp. So make sure to rinse your hair with fresh water after a swim, and after a day spent outdoors.

Hair & Scalp Care Tips

Tip 1

Avoid subjecting your hair to excessive chemical treatment such as too much coloring, bleaching, straightening or perming as these can cause damage that may make hair break off or fall out temporarily. Consult a specialist immediately should you experience any abnormal hair fall.

Tip 2

Observe proper diet and nutrition as the body needs adequate protein, vitamins and minerals to sustain hair growth. Hair loss is sometimes linked to being anorexic or being afflicted with bulimia, an eating disorder characterized by the restraint of food intake for a period of time.

Tip 3

Androgenetic Alopecia accounts for 95% of all hair loss. It can affect both men and women although men experience a much greater degree of loss. In women, Androgenetic Alopecia appears as diffuse hair loss occurring over most of the scalp. In men however the pattern of loss usually starts with a receding hairline which then advances to thin the top of the head. For excessive hair loss, consult a specialist.

Tip 4

Traction Alopecia is usually caused by continuous and excessive pulling on the hair due to various types of hairstyling. Ponytails, buns, braiding and cornrows often result in a continuous pulling on the hair. This traction gradually results in hair loss. If this type of traction and hair loss continues for an excessively long period of time then the hair loss may become permanent. For excessive hair loss, consult a specialist.

Causes of hair thinning and balding

Thinning hair and baldness may be triggered by various causes, but genetics is one major factor that influences hair loss. The pattern of baldness in both men and women may be induced by a genetic make-up known as androgenetic alopecia.

Hair loss may also be temporarily experienced three to four months after an illness or surgery.

The over activity or under activity of thyroid gland as well the imbalance of androgen or estrogen are other causes of hair loss.
Poor diet and nutrition likewise contribute to hair loss as inadequate protein, vitamins and minerals impede proper hair growth.

There are several treatments for hair loss and most of these are drugs with known side effects. Once you stop these medications, hair loss resumes. Surgeries such as scalp reductions and hair transplants are expensive options and not all can afford it. But now, there is an effective natural hair loss solution without harmful side effect…

CORY QUIRINO – Beauty & Wellness Icon
“You don’t have to be scared if you’re losing hair because there’s always hope in a formulation that has all the powerful herbs that can help you stimulate hair growth and not just to make your hair thicker but to prevent hair loss. Especially for men who are starting to feel that they have thin patches. Novuhair can darken the hair because of biotin, it can make it thicker because of the ginger, moringa and virgin coconut oil. It stimulates the hair follicles and it helps the hair grow more strands.”

DR. RICA MALLARI – Dermatologist

“The study aimed to determine the efficacy and safety of a herbal extract mixture in hair growth induction among males and females with hair problems. The case study showed positive results defined with an increased number of hair growth, decrease in hair shedding, slight increase in the number and thickness of hair strands mostly on the 4th month. Furthermore, there were no complaints of systemic or general side effects.”

DR. DIETMAR RUMMEL – Medical Plants Specialist

“The solution to the problem of hair loss or regrowth of hair is not in some fancy artificial synthetic molecule but in nature.”

“Because of the combination of all of these plants acting as special vitamins which influence the falling hair regrowth, they will definitely have an effect.”

FANNY SERRANO – Salon Expert
“Before, when people would ask for my advice on hair fall, I couldn’t tell them anything. I didn’t want to claim. So I’d just make suggestions, and tell them to let me know whether the product works…”

“Now I don’t just say, you know, just try it. I tell them myself to try Novuhair because I was convinced.” Image courtesy of mygorgeouspinkcheeks.blogspot.com

DR. MARCELLANO CRUZ – Dermatologist
“Increased blood supply in the scalp helps stimulate hair growth. On the onset of experiencing excessive hair fall, as manifested by the countless hair strands on your pillow or while taking a show, it’s recommended that you immediately seek medical advice from the experts. It’s really important to have a proper diet, balance nutrition, regular exercise and a continuous hair nourishment treatment to ensure complete wellness.”
