10 WAYS TO REDUCE HAIR LOSS IN MEN

Having a thick head of hair has always been identified with youth, masculinity, and virility among men. So just imagine how troubling it is for a man to discover he’s going bald. Hair loss is one of the most common problems men face even as early as in their 20’s. There are different causes for hair loss – poor diet, a deficiency in certain vitamins and minerals, stress, pollution, and genetics. Male pattern baldness, which accounts for about 95% of hair loss conditions among men, is largely due to a hormone called dihydrotestosterone (DHT) that results in thinning hair and receding hair lines.

But it’s not yet too late. Guys, read on for several easy and simple ways on how to handle and manage hair loss and save those remaining strands.

1. Be mindful of what you eat. What you put into your body also affects your mane as it gets the needed vitamins and minerals for healthy hair growth from your food intake. Avoid fried food and too much sweets. Sugar enables the release of testosterone, which in turn will be converted to DHT.

2. Load up on protein-rich food instead. Add more lean meat, fish, chicken, dairy, and other sources of proteinto your diet to promote healthier hair and keep your mane in optimum condition.

3. Drink lots of water. Water is not only good for the body but for the hair as well. The hair shaft is made of one quarter water so drink at least eight glasses of water daily to keep the strands hydrated and healthy.

4. Skip the after-shower brush. Hair is more prone to damage when wet. Using a brush after showering may cause the strands to break or snap due to the unwanted friction, leading to added hair fall. Use your fingers to untangle knots or if you have to comb, use a wide-toothed one instead.

5. Let hair dry naturally. Take it easy on your mane when wet. Break the bad habit of rubbing the hair dry with a towel post-shower. Aggressive rubbing after showering will roughen up the cuticle and will easily cause frizz and breakage. Let hair dry naturally instead or use a cotton shirt to pat it dry.

6. Ditch the cancer sticks. Proper blood circulation to the scalp and follicles is essential for the hair’s health. Smoking cigarettes affects the flow of blood to the scalp and this will inhibit the growth of hair.

7. Take vitamins for the hair. Vitamin A facilitates a healthy sebum production; Vitamin B promotes the hair’s healthy color; and Vitamin E aids in proper blood flow. The right kinds of vitamins provide nourishment to the hair, keeping it strong and healthy.

8. Exercise regularly. Devote at least 30 minutes of your time daily for exercise. It does wonders not only for your physique and general health but also for your hair. Regular exercise helps balance hormonal levels in the body and reduces stress, thus, also lessening the chances of hair fall.

9. Switch shampoos. Check the label on your shampoo. You might be unwittingly using chemicals that are too harsh on the hair and scalp. Look for a shampoo with mild and natural ingredients that’s specifically formulated to address hair loss like Novuhair, nature’s answer to hair loss.

10. Use a tried and tested topical solution. There are many treatments and solutions touted to address hair loss but unfortunately, not everything works. Go for the tried and tested product that’s proven to effectively strengthen the hair, reduce hair loss, and promote hair regrowth like Novuhair, nature’s answer to hair loss.

Novuhair introduces 3-in-1 Pack
Nature’s answer to hair loss, now more improved

Years of research and testing of herbal ingredients culminated to the perfect concoction that finally solves hair loss!

Nutramedica, manufacturer and exclusive distributor of Novuhair, introduces the highly anticipated Novuhair 3-in-1 Pack which now comes with an herbal conditioner to complement the herbal shampoo and topical scalp lotion.

The trio is available in 200mL bottles each, bundled as a set to provide users with Novuhair’s optimum benefits as a hair loss solution.

Gwen Ruais, Mae Velilla and Fanny Serrano Novuhair 3in1 Press Conference May 22 2013 Taste of LA Quezon City“We were amazed by the big demand from our customers clamoring for an herbal conditioner. Same as with the shampoo and topical scalp lotion, the conditioner has all-natural active ingredients which include herbal extracts, essential oils and co-factor nutrients,” said Mae Velilla, Chief Operating Officer of Nutramedica.

The Novuhair brand rejuvenates hair follicles and improves blood circulation to the scalp to stimulate hair growth. It also provides optimum nutrition to combat hair loss and hair thinning.

Developed to prepare the scalp for the application of Novuhair Topical Scalp Lotion, Novuhair Herbal Shampoo softens the hair, and nourishes the scalp through pure botanical extracts. The Novuhair Herbal Conditioner, meanwhile, helps moisturize and condition the hair, giving it a shinier look, making it suppler, and nourishing its overall health while being gentle for everyday use.

“When used in combination, Novuhair Topical Scalp Lotion, Novuhair Herbal Shampoo and Novuhair Conditioner deliver greater effectiveness and significantly better results than when used individually,” added Velilla.

A clinical trial conducted last year by renowned hair and scalp expert Dr. Rica Mallari showed a 100% success rate among the volunteers. All subjects experienced no progression of hair loss and a decrease in hair shedding. More importantly, no side effects were experienced by the subjects.

Fanny Serrano Novuhair Salon Expert User and EndorserAn adult normally sheds 100 to 150 strands a day. Factors such as hereditary disorder, underlying medical illness, major surgery, hormonal problems, childbirth, stress, air pollutants, exposure to sunlight, medications and infections may cause excessive hair loss.

“Cosmetic remedies, chemically formulated solutions, and surgical procedures available today that claim to address drastic hair problems can be quite expensive, and unsafe. Novuhair is a safe and effective way to address the problem of hair loss,” said Mallari.

Moringa oleifera or malunggay is one ingredient that helps restore the skin’s condition and prevent falling hair. Sweet almond oil, another ingredient, is a moisture-rich oil that contains vitamins A, B1, B6 and E, as well as minerals such as magnesium and iron. Scientifically known as prunus amygdalus, sweet almond oil easily penetrates the hair shaft and follicles, relieving hair dryness and itching and providing nourishment to the hair to promote hair growth.

Gwendoline Ruais Novuhair User and EndorserOther ingredients include panax ginseng, which improves blood circulation to the scalp, as well as ginger, which is also a hair bulb nutrient and stimulant. Together with aloe, they become an effective agent for hair growth and the prevention of falling hair.

Lavender helps relieve itching, and like rosemary, another ingredient, it contains properties that help combat dandruff and disinfects the scalp. Lemongrass helps clean the scalp’s pores, while peppermint is known to slow the growth of bacteria and fungi, aside from having a relaxing effect on the muscles.

Novuhair Herbal Shampoo and Conditioner may be used during bathing, to be followed by the Scalp Lotion. Simply massage a generous amount of the lotion onto the scalp for five to ten minutes, and then rinse off or leave on as a hair-styling agent.

While there are no known contraindications to Novuhair Herbal Conditioner, users are pre-cautioned against use in cases of sensitivity to the ingredients. Novuhair herbal products are only for topical use and may not be ingested.

The Novuhair 3-in-1 Topical Scalp Lotion, Herbal Shampoo and Herbal Conditioner Pack is available at all Mercury Drug and Watsons stores. Suggested retail price of the Novuhair 3-in1 Pack P4,980. 4 Simple Steps To Bring Health Conditions Under Control

4 Simple steps to bring health conditions under controlThere are bountiful words of wisdom out there, passed on from one generation to another. But perhaps the one ancient adage that remains timeless in its unfading truth is this: Health is wealth.

You heard it from your grandparents, your parents, your boss, your colleague, and even from your friendly neighborhood hairstylist. And yet despite its repeated presence in our everyday existence, many still seem to discount the power and significance of these three simple words.

Taking care of one’s health and staying in control of one’s health conditions takes conscious effort – lots of it. How do you start? Here’s what Novuhair suggests:

1. Get a complete physical exam. It may take a good chunk of your time yes, but it will be time well spent. A complete executive checkup will give you a comprehensive idea of how your health is doing, giving you the knowledge to verify which aspect of your body to zero in for further improvement. This will also shed light on any possible nutritional deficiencies that you have to address.

You can ask your employers when your annual schedule is, or you can voluntarily sign up for it by scheduling one at your preferred clinic or hospital.

2. Talk to a health professional. While your friends and family may have well-meaning advice regarding your health, they may not be the best source of suggestions on what course of medical action to take. A competent doctor is still the ideal person to talk to when seeking medical input on how to handle any sort of health condition.

If you have already screened and pinpointed your health concern through a medical exam or a previous consultation with a general practitioner, you can also opt to visit a specialist. A doctor specializing in the medical field you’re concerned about (eg. a dermatologist for hair loss conditions) will be able to provide you with more accurate information on possible further testing or the most appropriate line of treatment for you.

3. Commit to your treatment scheme and be ready for possible lifestyle changes and sacrifices you have to make. Getting health conditions under your control takes more than just a visit to the doctor. Most of the time, you’d have to put in an extra amount of dedication. Take your medicines as instructed, follow the required health routine regularly, and follow the diet plan set out for you. If you were told to steer clear of a certain vice, make sure you stay away from it. Vices like smoking and drinking too much alcohol can greatly harm one’s health. But for many, staying away from these is a major sacrifice – be prepared to make it.

For example, those experiencing hair loss and are using Novuhair to improve hair growth are advised to use the nature-based products such as Novuhair Herbal Shampoo and Novuhair Conditioner exclusively for the time that they are working on improving their hair loss condition. NOVUHAIR Herbal Conditioner together with NOVUHAIR Herbal Shampoo have been developed especially to prepare the scalp in an optimal way for the application of NOVUHAIR Topical Scalp Lotion and are expected to enhance its effects.

4. Get your loved ones involved in your health changes. It was mentioned in this article that your loved ones may not be the best person to consult for medical advice, but they’re definitely the ideal persons to turn to for support. Undergoing medical treatment brings both positives and negatives – positive refers to healing, and negatives being the ‘drastic’ changes you have to submit to in order for everything to work out. The latter can be easily dealt with, with the help of people who would constantly remind you of your goals, who would not hesitate to reprimand you for sliding back, and who has your best interests at heart. It can be as simple as switching to a nature-based hair treatment like Novuhair 3-in-1 at home, or as time and effort-consuming as going with you on workout or therapy sessions.

How To Keep Your Hair Healthy During The Summer Season

The sweltering temperatures of the Philippine summer season can really make one hot-headed – literally. With the degrees climbing from 32 to 37 centigrade any given summer day, there is just no getting away from the dryness and stress.

Add to that the slew of activities one can get involved in during the busy months filled with sunshine, and for sure, your hair will take in a steady amount of ‘torture’. That is, if you don’t take the necessary measures to take care of it.

Here are a few easy ways to make sure that your hair stays beautiful throughout the summer:

novuhair-3in1-lotion-shampoo-conditioner1. Keep your hair moisturized. One thing that summer does to your hair is to dry it out, not only through the temperature but also through swimming in pools or salt water. To keep hair smooth, healthy and well conditioned, best to use NOVUHAIR® 3-in-1 pack. Each set contains Novuhair Herbal Shampoo and conditioner, which keeps your hair hydrated through natural active ingredients and a topical scalp lotion to help increase the nutrition in your scalp.

2. Your lazy days at the beach must also include some sort of hair protection like a floppy hat, a visor, or simply wrap a scarf around it while you ‘sunbathe’. This way, you can keep some of the harmful UV rays away from your gorgeous strands.

3. If you plan to spend a considerable amount of time in the pool or the beach, don’t forget to bring with you some hair care elements like Novuhair Topical Scalp Lotion. It will help you ensure that your lovely locks are not deprived of important nutrients it needs that chlorinated water and salt water tends to strip away.

4. Go for more laid-back or natural hairstyles. As much as possible, keep styling elements like the curling iron and blow-dryer away from your hair. Use of these tools will only add up to the heat and ‘stress’ that your hair has to suffer during the summer months.

5. Keep your head and hair clean. Pollution in the city, and even in favorite summer destinations tend to escalate during the hot months of March to May, and all the dirt can build up in your hair. Chlorine and salt from your refreshing dips can also take up space on your scalp. So make sure to rinse your hair with fresh water after a swim, and after a day spent outdoors.

The Magic of NOVUHAIR® 3-in-1: Nature’s Answer to Hair Loss

Fairy tales are a favorite read by children and even adults, it lets them into a magical world where even the impossible can happen. In the realm of hair loss and hair thinning though, there seems to be a perpetual dark cloud hanging. Like it is a hopeless ‘end of the road’ kind of condition where no fairy dust can help out.

Truth is, hair loss or alopecia is not a dead end. There is a certain kind of ‘magic’ that does exist to help alleviate the condition. And contrary to popular modern belief, the answer is not exactly in chemicals or technology – it is and has always been in nature.

novuhair-3in1-lotion-shampoo-conditionerNOVUHAIR® 3-in-1, an innovative product from Nutramedica, has brought to the Philippines the ‘fairy dust’ of hair loss. Containing a formulation of natural active ingredients of herbal extracts, essential oils, and co-factor nutrients, Novuhair provides a safe and effective means to promoting hair growth.

NOVUHAIR® 3-in-1 pack contains one bottle each of Herbal Shampoo, Topical Scalp Lotion and Herbal Conditioner to provide the user the optimum benefits of NOVUHAIR® natural hair loss solution. When used in combination, one should experience an even better result than used individually.

NOVUHAIR® Topical Scalp Lotion, works wonders in ensuring that your hair gets a daily dose of enriching botanical extracts to make it healthier and stimulate hair growth such as Panax ginseng, Zingiber officinale (ginger or luya), and Aloe barbadensis (Sabila). These elements promote increased hair growth by nourishing and stimulating the hair follicles.

NOVUHAIR® Herbal Shampoo contains pure botanical extracts contributing to a healthy scalp and stronger hair follicles, thus, resulting in softer and healthier hair everyday. NOVUHAIR® Herbal Shampoo has been developed especially to prepare the scalp in an optimal way for the application of NOVUHAIR®  is a topical scalp lotion and is expected to enhance its effects.

NOVUHAIR® Herbal Conditioner contains standardized herbal extracts which moisturize and condition your hair giving it a shinier, softer and supple look. NOVUHAIR® Herbal Conditioner has been formulated specifically to complement the use of NOVUHAIR® Topical Scalp Lotion and NOVUHAIR® Herbal Shampoo.

These three Novuhair products provide a safe and effective combination for anyone who’s experiencing hair loss, and is feeling hopeless with his or her situation. Perhaps magic sounds ‘unreal’, but the healing and therapeutic wonders of nature have been proven effective for centuries. Thankfully, that ‘magic’ is now conveniently packed in NOVUHAIR® 3-in-1 – ready for you to use whenever, and wherever you need it.

Novuhair Topical Scalp Lotion and Herbal Shampoo Review by behealthyandwell.com

The other week I received an email asking me if I was willing to do a review on a new herbal anti-hair loss product called Novuhair. At first I was not really keen on it as I don’t have hair fall or hair loss problems, at least none as yet. But one look at the company website and I had to say yes. I was impressed with the long list of herbal ingredients the products contain, many of which I personally know to be some of the best in the world – VCO, ginger, moringa – things I have blogged about already actually. So I figured out these products are good for any hair type, balding or not.

The combo pack of Novuhair topical scalp lotion and herbal shampoo arrived last week but I asked the company to give me one week to have them tested on me and my family. Here are my thoughts after a full week of using them.
Novu Hair Topical Scalp Lotion

Novuhair topical scalp lotion is a sort of hair tonic which has to be massaged on the scalp twice a day – in the morning before taking a bath and at the end of the day. It’s a dark, runny and syrupy liquid which smells of grass, sugar, spice … and all things nice. I love it. Really, it smells like no other.

By the smell alone, it’s not hard to believe that the product really has extracts of the herbs it claims to have. I could catch whiffs of ginger, rosemary and lavender. Yet it is also said to have moringa (malunggay), Centella asiatica (takip-kohol), VCO, ginseng, nelli and aloe vera. Biotin and Vitamin B5 are also sneaked in. It has parabens, though, so it’s not really organic, though to its credit, the parabens are listed last. (One rule of product labeling is to list ingredients from the greatest to the least proportion.)

I find the 10-minute, twice-a-day scalp massage quite relaxing but a bit hard to keep, though I guess if I were balding I would be desperate enough to stick to the regimen, lol. It is not particularly greasy and my hubby even used it as a leave-on conditioner (but no, he’s not balding).
Novuhair Herbal Shampoo

Novuhair herbal shampoo, on the other hand, smells so much like the scalp lotion but is more peppery as it has peppermint and lemongrass on top of the other botanicals. I find this shampoo to be a lot more concentrated than most regular shampoos. For my long, layered hair, I only need to pour shampoo the size of a 25-cent coin. It does a great cleansing job as my hair comes out clean without leaving it dry. My hair feels light without feeling stiff, sleek without being weighed down. Thumbs up for this shampoo.

Say goodbye to hair loss with Novuhair by the24hourmommy.com

I have always had fine, limp hair to begin with so it’s always been my frustration to have thicker hair. My diabetes and hormones aggravated my hair woes and I’ve been losing a lot of hair lately not to mention that I can’t skip having my hair rebonded every year..

I’ve tried a lot of hair thickening products in the past but I haven’t found one that delivers consistent results. Three weeks ago, I was sent a pack of Novuhair Topical Scalp Lotion and Herbal Shampoo to try out. It was timely, actually, because I just had my hair rebonded again and my hair needed extra loving care after the tedious hair treatment.

Resolutions: How to Know You Are Off to a Good Start

Last New Year’s Eve, amidst the fireworks, overflowing wine and fresh beats, you made a variety of resolves for 2013 that will change your life. Now that we’re well on our way to ending February, what have you done so far?

Just in case you find yourself at a loss for words, here are the three most common resolutions and what you should have already done so far:

1. Leading a healthier lifestyle.

According to Time Magazine, about 60% of gym memberships are unused, and attendance goes back to normal numbers by mid-February. Have you even used yours at all? If not, well, it’s still ok. But by now, you should have at least a good head start by increasing your physical activity on a daily basis. Walk instead of taking the car for short distances or simply waking up at least half an hour early for a morning jog.

How do you keep yourself on track? Monitor your weight on a weekly basis. If possible, have a workout/weight loss buddy who would go on the ‘journey’ with you to keep you motivated.

2. Looking better.

You promised yourself you’ll look amazing this year. Whether it’s making your skin clearer or transforming your hair to something shampoo commercial-worthy, what have you done so far to give yourself a make-over? Getting a good haircut will make for an awesome start, and hopefully, you’ve also already gotten into some good hair care habits.

Using herbal products like Novuhair Topical Scalp Lotion paired with Novuhair Herbal Shampoo is one great way of keeping your hair and scalp healthy. The active ingredients of these products are natural, giving you a good start with becoming more ‘green’ too.

3. Spending more time with the family.

You partied and travelled so much last year, and this year you just want to make sure you give your family some love and attention. What have you put on schedule as of today?

Here’s to hoping you have cleared at least a day of your weekend to spend with them. If you haven’t gotten around to doing that yet, how about giving them at least an hour’s worth of quality bonding during your weekdays? It’s not much, but it does get you on track.

It’s too early to give up, and never too late to keep going with your New Year’s resolutions. Start with the positive changes today!
