Novuhair Topical Scalp Lotion and Herbal Shampoo Review by behealthyandwell.com

The other week I received an email asking me if I was willing to do a review on a new herbal anti-hair loss product called Novuhair. At first I was not really keen on it as I don’t have hair fall or hair loss problems, at least none as yet. But one look at the company website and I had to say yes. I was impressed with the long list of herbal ingredients the products contain, many of which I personally know to be some of the best in the world – VCO, ginger, moringa – things I have blogged about already actually. So I figured out these products are good for any hair type, balding or not.

The combo pack of Novuhair topical scalp lotion and herbal shampoo arrived last week but I asked the company to give me one week to have them tested on me and my family. Here are my thoughts after a full week of using them.
Novu Hair Topical Scalp Lotion

Novuhair topical scalp lotion is a sort of hair tonic which has to be massaged on the scalp twice a day – in the morning before taking a bath and at the end of the day. It’s a dark, runny and syrupy liquid which smells of grass, sugar, spice … and all things nice. I love it. Really, it smells like no other.

By the smell alone, it’s not hard to believe that the product really has extracts of the herbs it claims to have. I could catch whiffs of ginger, rosemary and lavender. Yet it is also said to have moringa (malunggay), Centella asiatica (takip-kohol), VCO, ginseng, nelli and aloe vera. Biotin and Vitamin B5 are also sneaked in. It has parabens, though, so it’s not really organic, though to its credit, the parabens are listed last. (One rule of product labeling is to list ingredients from the greatest to the least proportion.)

I find the 10-minute, twice-a-day scalp massage quite relaxing but a bit hard to keep, though I guess if I were balding I would be desperate enough to stick to the regimen, lol. It is not particularly greasy and my hubby even used it as a leave-on conditioner (but no, he’s not balding).
Novuhair Herbal Shampoo

Novuhair herbal shampoo, on the other hand, smells so much like the scalp lotion but is more peppery as it has peppermint and lemongrass on top of the other botanicals. I find this shampoo to be a lot more concentrated than most regular shampoos. For my long, layered hair, I only need to pour shampoo the size of a 25-cent coin. It does a great cleansing job as my hair comes out clean without leaving it dry. My hair feels light without feeling stiff, sleek without being weighed down. Thumbs up for this shampoo.
